Tris and Ben stayed out in the boat for an hour or so. When they finally came back in, Leo got up to help them drag the boat up the beach to where it would be out of reach of the waves.

“Looked like you were having fun,” Leo said.

“It was brilliant!” Ben said, animated. “Can we go out again later, Dad?”

“If that’s okay with Leo. But he might want a turn.”

“I’m hoping to persuade Edwin to come out with me.” Leo lowered the sails, and Tris helped him stow them so they wouldn’t flap in the wind.

“Take off your lifejacket, Ben,” Tris said. “Then we can go and have some lunch. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”
